Enviro group in action

We have a small group of keen gardeners and they have been given and huge responsibility from the WHAU trust.

We have been given some seeds that we are germinating currently and will grow into small plants and then plant these along rivers etc in our local area. This aligns really well with the learning we have been taking here in regard to creating a more local curriculum.

Teaching teachers to teach children to ride their bikes.

 What a  great staff meeting it was to have all the staff on bikes and having a go. Role modeling to the children is so important and the learning that took place in this staff meeting was excellent. Loads of us just thought we would get children on bikes and away they go, however, we learned it is more than that and the games and fun you can have as a class of children on bikes is so good.  We look forward to getting all the children in every class on a  bike and enjoying our wonderful whole bike track!
