Enviro group in action

We have a small group of keen gardeners and they have been given and huge responsibility from the WHAU trust. We have been given some seeds that we are germinating currently and will grow into small plants and then plant these along rivers etc in our local area. This aligns really well with the learning we have been taking here in regard to creating a more local curriculum. http://www.tiritirimatangi.org.nz/whau

Water color ART here at school.

Room 7 have been hard at work studying their ARTIST and then trying their best to paint using watercolors. So much fun and they really did a wonderful job. These will look great on the wall and the children were able to share what they had learned about the artist. Georgia O'keeffe paints flowers, skyscrapers, landscapes. Focus on perspective and bright colours.  The children have been using all the skills they have learned.

Celebrating Te Reo week here at school

What a wonderful week we are having. As a school and country, we are celebrating all things Te Reo here. The staff and children and even the parents are really trying their best when they are greeting each other and giving instructions. Teachers are asking children to use Te Reo in their writing and in their ART. On Monday we had a whole syndicate celebration with games, singing, and even a house team competition. Keep up the great work. He pai ki a maatau te whakamahi i te reo i konei i te kura, me te kaha ki te whakamahi i ia ra.
