First classes hit the track!

Rm 11/12 were the first official classes to be able to be on the track during school time. It was a terrible day but they managed to find a spot in the weather to get the children out there.
They loved it and it was certainly a challenge for some of them.

Cant wait till we get all out bikes and have the official opening!

We started the day off with the width races, the first race was the kick board followed by freestyle, breast stroke, backstroke and then butterfly.   The year 4 boys were first to race, followed by the year 4 girls, after all the year 4s it was the year 5's, then year 6's. Once the width races were finished it was time for the length races, in the same order as the width races, plus the 50m races, which was two laps of the pool. The first two placings in each heat raced in the finals. Everyone swam so well, there were lots of close races and it was so exciting cheering for your team. After all the individual races had finished we moved onto the relays. We started with the house relays which was won by Kauri, they had a great race, Rata came 2nd, Kowhai came 3rd and Rimu came 4th. Then it was time for the parent, teacher...
