Week 5

Ash Wednesday-
On the 6th of march the whole school and parish went down to the church to celebrate a special day for us. The disciples spoke well. And everyone sang lovely.
I hope everyone has started of their lent with love.

Kapa haka-
This year miss McHezer is leading the kapa haka she has led this group for a few years now and have done it very well. This group is opened to year 2-6s. The kapa haka performs at our powhiris. Our kapa haka group sings Te reo Maori. We have a strong group of boys and girls. The kapa haka group practices in room 10 once every week.

New sandpit toys-
We are thankful that our school bought some new toys for our sandpits. These sandpits can be found on the top and bottom fields. Although on the bottom field the sandpit is only open to year 1s. And at the top field we have rostered days for class’s because it has become very popular. We now have got spades, buckets and shovels. It is all going very well.

Tunnel toys-
This year a few children found some old toys. These toys are down at the year 1 playground. They are kinetic toys and the children have been making a tunnel out of them. But these toys are only aloud to be used by year 1s only.

Enviro group-
Thanks to Mrs. Williams, Mrs. S, miss Synot and a parent of our school community we have our own enviro group. This group helps look after our nature and world.
This group has a big number of boys and girls

Once the width races were finished it was time for the length races, in the same order as the width races, plus the 50m races, which was two laps of the pool. The first two placings in each heat raced in the finals. Everyone swam so well, there were lots of close races and it was so exciting cheering for your team.
